We sat down with the Cindy Meehl (DIR), and Guzzy Grashow (Participant) to talk about the documentary JIMMY & THE DEMONS, which won the Best Documentary Award at the Naples International Film Festival.

THE SYNOPSIS: Go inside the mind of celebrated sculptor James Grashow, age 79, as he pours time, labor, creativity, passion and his health into his magnum opus: a towering sculpture of Jesus and demons.

WHAT DID WE TALK ABOUT: Cindy discusses were entry point into Jimmy as a documentary subject and the decisions that led to making a film versus a documentary series. She also talks about how the fact that she was good friends with Jimmy and Guzzy influenced the filmmaking process. Guzzy discusses the comfort level she and Jimmy had with Cindy following them around with a camera, and how they, in fact, welcomed it. Guzzy also talks about the bittersweet but fulfilling experience appearing with the film’s screenings at film festivals has been for her – especially since Jimmy is no longer with us.
