EXCLUSIVE TRAILER REVEAL: World Premiere of Lane Michael Stanley’s T at Dances With Films: LA
Lane Michael Stanley’s T is the first transmasculine narrative film inspired by and shot during the lead actor’s real life experiences taking Testosterone. Written and directed by the award-winning transmasculine filmmaker and playwright, and starring Mel Glickman, who co-wrote the story with Stanley, T is a never-before-seen narrative look at transmasculine identity.

The film will be making its world premiere at Dances With Films: LA on Friday, June 20 at the legendary Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
Filmed over the actor’s real-life first year taking Testosterone, T is a dramatic transmasculine journey that authentically portrays the complicated, moving struggles and joys encountered in friendships, family, and romantic relationships. Stanley said, “My own experiences have taught me the life-saving power of connection, which now forms the heart of all my work. I am inspired by stories of authenticity and people who are radically defining themselves and their worlds. I am interested in igniting the deep connections and profound differences that define relationship, community, family, and culture by telling personal, intimate stories about complicated people tasked with forging their own meaning. My intention is to tell messy stories that embrace the darkest parts of ourselves, but through a healing, grounded aesthetic that assures my audience that we can face these things together.” Glickman added, “I hope this film resonates with anyone. If even just one person sees Em and for the first time sees a messy, real, loving transgender person – not a monster, not a danger, not fodder for rhetoric – I’ll be happy.”

Stanley (he/they) is a transgender filmmaker and playwright making community-embedded work around queerness, healing, grief, recovery, restorative justice, and housing insecurity. He’s had award-winning shorts and feature films play at festivals, including Austin Film Festival and Outfest, and his plays have been presented at over twenty theaters across the country.
