Dallas-based EarthxFilm President co-Founder/President Michael Cain sends out a Call for Entries for the 2020 edition of the environmentally-focused film festival

Co-Founder/President Michael Cain makes call for Entries are now open for the 2020 edition of EarthxFilm, which will take place in Dallas, Texas, April 17-26.

In the 4th year of the innovative film festival, EarthxFilm will once again showcase films, augmented and virtual reality and emerging media that explore conservation, climate change, and the environment while honoring the heroes working to protect the planet.

The film festival’s mission, led by co-Founder/President Michael Cain and Artistic Director David Holbrooke, goes beyond the act of screening films to actively work toward turning awareness into action through art and media.

EarthxFilm will give away a total of $20,000 in prize money to award winners selected by juried competition as well as audience determination. Those awards also include the film festival’s unique Earth Catalyst Award and Impact Award, which is given to the subjects and causes that the winning films highlight or introduce audiences to via their screenings at the film festival. It’s another example of how EarthxFilm, extends itself beyond film exhibition to actively support the environmentally-focused causes those films shine a light on.

Cain, said, “We take our role providing a platform for important voices and filmmaking visions seriously, while seeking to introduce filmmakers to new audiences and further the mission of education about the challenges facing our world and the environment. We believe these films and the filmmakers behind them deserve the largest audiences we can provide as the impact and immediacy of their subjects touch every one of us. And frankly, we feel we can also lend a hand to help the people doing good work in that area that benefits our world – and everyone in it.”

Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the media spotlight on EarthxFilm will be more prominent than ever as the world turns its attention to the state of our world, its climate, environmental issues, nature, etc. The film festival has quickly established itself as a leader and prominent “voice” among the environmentally-focused film festival and event community as it continues to draw important figures, scientists, politicians, and subjects to Dallas as part of its celebration and exploration of our world.
