The 2019 Chicago Underground Film Festival opened on Wednesday night with Adam Khalil and Bayley Sweitzer’s EMPTY METAL, with a number of filmmakers that had traveled from far and wide (Hungary, Australia, West Virginia, etc.) for the 26th edition of the critically acclaimed fest. An enthusiastic group of filmmakers and film fans enjoyed a pre-screening cocktail party at the venerable Logan Theater prior to a musical performance by Chelsea Bridge and filmmaker Haley McCormick and the screening of EMPTY METAL.
