Presence
Starring: Lucy Liu Directed by: Steven Soderbergh
A family moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone.
What the Critics are Saying:
I love that after all these decades as a filmmaker, Soderbergh still likes to do these cool little experimental larks.

‘Presence’ squanders the talents of David Koepp and Steven Soderbergh in a lifeless, cliché-ridden ghost story that delivers neither scares nor suspense.
– Rex Reed, Observer
Presence has the story, limited scope, and 85-minute runtime of a 1940s B-picture, infused—as those pictures often were—with a disciplined style and contemporary electricity.

Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy
On October 28th, 2023, the news that actor Matthew Perry was found dead at home in Los Angeles shocked the world. In his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing,” he had told his story of battling addiction, and when ketamine was found in his system, it was thought by many that he had died from an overdose. Nearly a year later, a bombshell announcement: five people, including Perry’s personal assistant, two medical doctors, and an alleged Hollywood drug dealer known as “the Ketamine Queen” were charged with conspiracy to illegally provide Perry with the ketamine. The special explores the case as two of the defendants, who have pleaded not guilty, await trial. In MATTHEW PERRY: A HOLLYWOOD TRAGEDY, the story of Perry’s rise to fame is interwoven with the harrowing story of his final days, as his assistant allegedly sought ketamine from sources the U.S. Attorney claims “should have known better.” We hear from some of Perry’s collaborators, Hollywood insiders, and law enforcement in telling this tragic Hollywood story.

The Low End Theory
Starring: Sidney Flanigan, J.R. Villarreal, Directed by: Francisco Ordonez
A traumatized vet turned money launderer steals from her drug-dealer boss to pay off debts owed by the beautiful but equally troubled woman with whom she is having an obsessive affair.
What critics are saying:
The Low End Theory is an eventful LGBT drama, with a shocking end worth watching for. The messages you can take away from the film are, don’t bite the hand that feeds you, don’t cover someone else’s debt, and in a weird way, to follow your dreams.
– Romey Norton, Film Focus Online
This piece of enthralling pulp fiction is full of romance, malfeasance, betrayals, setups and intrigue – that constitute a convoluted plot.
– Ronak Kotecha, ReviewRon
Sofia Yepes gives a powerful performance in a directorial debut that tries to pull the aesthetic of the Safdie brothers to a more Latinx experience. Doesn’t add up much to the genre but deserves the watch.
