Sundial Film Festival
One of the most tenured festivals in northern California, the Sundial Film Festival will be held on March 21st, 2026 at the historic Cascade Theatre in downtown Redding, California. Managed by local filmmakers, the festival aims to be a filmmaker-focused event featuring a full range of films during matinee and evening showings. In addition to Saturday’s showings, each selected filmmaker will be invited to a pre-party on the evening of Friday, March 20th, where you will have the opportunity to celebrate with the other filmmakers whose work has been selected for the festival.
Now in its 18th year, the festival has shown the early work of many filmmakers who have gone on to have successful careers including: Jeff Loveness (Rick & Morty, Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania), Eric Jacobus (God of War, Rope a Dope) and Will Lascelles (The Adventure Locker, Rushes). In an industry of gatekeepers, the Sundial Film Festival aims to position itself as launching pad for undiscovered artists by focusing its programming on truly excellent filmmaking regardless of the filmmaker’s education, pedigree or industry relationships.
