New Line Cinema–the studio that brought you “The Notebook“–and the unhinged creators of “Barbarian” cordially invite you to experience a new kind of love story….

What the Critics Say:

“When Companion attempts the same sort of twists as Barbarian, they’re almost too easy to roll with.”

– Jesse Hassenger, AV Club

“Cycling smoothly through multiple genres — rom-com, crime thriller, slasher sendup — the movie assembles a broad satire of gender dynamics from scraps of sci-fi and a generous dollop of technophobia.’

– Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Post

“Companion” is darkly funny and has some great jump scares, but it’s also a meditation on how some men have a default switch that makes it far too easy for them to be manipulative and abusive”

– Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times

Green and Gold

Starring: Craig T. Nelson, Brandon Sklenar, Madison Lawlor ; Directed by: Anders Lindwall

Foreclosure looms over Wisconsin dairy farmer Buck (Craig T. Nelson). With mounting debt and the land his family has cultivated for four generations at risk, Buck refuses to give up his legacy without a fight. Buck’s granddaughter (Madison Lawlor) works alongside him but dreams of a career in music. Her aspirations are fanned by an emerging friendship with a famous musician (Brandon Sklenar), but chasing her dreams might take her far from the farm. With time running out, Buck places a daring Super Bowl bet on his beloved Green Bay Packers, risking it all to save everything he holds dear.

What the Critics Say:

“Something of a shaggy dog story “inspired by true events,” according to a title card, that aims to pull at our heartstrings.”

— Glenn Kenny, New York Times

“Even those of us who bleed Navy blue and burnt orange can embrace the messaging and the spirit of “Green and Gold.”

– Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times

“The offering isn’t original, and Lindwall is determined to hit every cliché he can, but he has a strong cast to help sell the effort’s emotional beats, making performances the most compelling aspect of the endeavor.”

– Brian Orndorf, Blu-ray.com

“Green and Gold” is loaded with strong performances starting with Nelson. He plays the role with the kind of stubborn optimism that has kept farmers going for centuries.”

– Rick Bentley, KGET-TV (Bakersfield, CA)

Eli’s life begins to fall apart as his murderous father awaits his fate on death row. Discovering similar triggers in himself, he soon takes extreme measures to ensure that his family’s string of savagery comes to an end.

What Critics are Saying:

“Writer/director Barry Jay’s storytelling and filmmaking are incompetent enough to believe most of the movie is just some kind of terrible accident.”

“Like Father Like Son banks on a strong premise and some familiar faces to carry the movie, but with confused messages, it’s a swing and a miss.”
