Atlanta’s LGBTQ film festival, Out on Film announces Call for Entries for this year’s 34th edition
“Last year presented with us with one of the biggest challenges we ever faced – how to pivot an 11-day film festival into a mostly virtual one,” says Jim Farmer, festival director of Out On Film. “We were able to not only successfully do so without having to scale down our event, but actually added to the number of filmmakers that could participate in virtual Q&As from all over the world.”

Regarding the double win by TWO OF US, KJ Mohr spoke for the jury, saying, “Riveting and gut-wrenching, TWO OF US stands out as a uniquely important lesbian love story and a sumptuous cinematic achievement. We were overwhelmingly impressed with the powerful storytelling, rich imagery and, above all, the claustrophobically engrossing atmosphere that director Filippo Meneghetti created. This stunning accomplishment is all the more impressive, considering that TWO OF US is Meneghetti’s first feature film.”

She is a certified LGBTQIA+ icon (thus the award we will present to her) and he shaped pop culture in a major way during a heady period writing for film and television. Both have had a fascinating journey leading up to the peak of their cultural influence and beyond. As one of the longest running LGBTQIA+ film festivals, we embrace connecting those dots through our history as well as celebrating and presenting the best of the new films and filmmakers today.”
