On our inaugural What the Film?! Podcast, Justina Walford and I talk about a trio of topics inspired by Facebook debate thread shenanigans including Tribeca claiming they would be the first in-theater film festival this year when there have been SEVERAL already in the past three months and one even in New York City a couple weeks ago. Adorable, Tribeca. Adorable.

Then some film festival guy thinks that “virtual” and “online” is toxic because a single distributor and a handful of filmmakers told him so. Maybe he can get double vaccinated for that because guess what isn’t going away? Virtual presentations as a part of what film festivals do. Try to keep up, buddy. (Also, listen closely to how I say “dinosaur”. Sounds weird to me now.)

Then, there is the question of what the “rules” are for documentaries and if David Attenborough is gonna come at me with a vengeance because I’m scoffing at that too. (Watch and listen to me winning friends and influencing people just like Andrew Carnegie taught me. And Justina is pissing off the vegans, so we’re quite the charmers as a couple, I guess.
